My goodness, what a year 2020 has been so far. On a personal level a lot has happened anyway, but with the Covid-19 pandemic the world certainly does not look the same and I can only image where we will all be this time next year. I recently watched the movie ‘The Big Short’ showing how the financial crisis of 2007–2008 was triggered by the United States housing bubble. No one saw it coming. Well almost no one. A small few people saw it coming and took preemptive measures that the rest of the world viewed as crazy. I wonder if anyone saw this pandemic coming? I’m sure some will say yes, but for the majority of us, this has been an unexpected and life shaking year.
After a long time break from taking on new or increasing freelance work, due to my full time Design work commitments, now seems to be a perfect time to broaden my service while employees including myself remain on furlough, and businesses are considering their future steps. I expect that the months ahead will continue to feel strange as we all learn to be flexible and determined in our work, and support one another in every big and small way that we are able. Our individual situations may look very different, but we are all in this together.
